Fashion Superhero

To many of us our Father's are like superhero's and in celebration of Daddy day I thought I do a post for the fellas.  I came spotted these funky limited edition superhero inspired loafers for men by Giuseppe Zanotti.  The shoe was produced exclusively for Luisaviaroma and is part of the FIRENZE4EVER 5th Edition 'Fashion Super Heroes' Event.  So the question is would you buy for your hubby or guys would you buy for yourself?  I think or different and worn with the right outfit can really stand out in a good way.  FYI...love this cool superhero picture from the Luisviaroma website had to share.

Braided Strap Platform Sandals

These sandals are super cute and affordable making them a great buy for the summer.  They would be good for Sunday brunch, a date, and dare I say a stroll around the park (something almost comfortable looking about them; I could be way off).  They come in two colors Lilac and Black; be careful with those Lilac one's though they look like they are just waiting to be smudged.

Shoe features faux suede upper (hence the price), braided strap detailing, square toe, 5.5" heel, and 1.75" platform. Retailed at $58.00 and available at Nastygal for purchase.

NAEL COCE Fashion & Comfort for the Everyday Woman

Since the invention of heels women have been forced to choose between fashion and comfort.  Many times we choose the former and suffer through an endless night of shifting our weight from foot to foot.  Well ladies chemist, environmental engineer, and fashion enthusiast Sheena Young has developed the solution to our problem with her line of eco friendly shoes; the Ambi Collection.  According to Young's website (naelcoce.com) the Ambi Collection features two shoes in one "a four-inch convertible high heel that has a comfortable, odor resistant, antibacterial insole that becomes a flat. The shoes, made from environmentally safe synthetic materials, have a distinctive green sole."  That's right, not only are Young's shoes cute and comfortable but they are also safe for the environment!!!
I reached out to Young and her team recently and I was able to land an interview with the talented designer.  Young shared with me her views into the past, present and future of Nael Coce and all I can say are big things are in the works.

(Me) Customers are definitely getting a 2 in 1 deal with your shoes and we love it!  Tell me when, how, and what inspired you to begin Nael Coce?
(Young) In 2010, I was at a NYE party when my feet began to hurt in my heels. I am extremely germaphobic so I usually suffer through the pain. But that night I took off my shoes for the first time. So I decided to brainstorm a solution. With my chemistry and material science background I decided to use an antibacterial fiber for the insole and earth friendly materials for the shoes.
(Me) How would you describe the Nael Coce woman / consumer?
(Young) A Nael Coce woman is every woman. She’s the working woman, college student, and stay-at home mom who has an occasional “girls’ night out”. She’s all age groups.

(Me) Explain your ultimate vision for Nael Coce?
(Young) Nael Coce hopes to become available in large retail stores across the country such as Nordstrom and Macys. We then hope to expand our brand globally and be a recognizable name to all women.
(Me) What was it like seeing your creation featured on CBS Atlanta?
(Young) It was unreal to see something that I have worked so hard on finally featured on the news of one of the nation’s major fashion cities. It was a great kick-off to bringing exposure to my brand. I hope to see my shoes featured on a nationally broadcasted show in the near future. So look for Nael Coce on the Today Show next. (wink)

Giuseppe Zanotti Fall 2012 Collection Review

I have extremely mixed feelings about the Giuseppe Zanotti Fall 2012 Collection based upon this preview.  I really like a handful of the shoes but mostly hate (strong word I know) the rest of the collection. The collection features metallic tones, spikes, fur, studs, and gem embellishments.

So I'll start with what I do like...

I'm always intrigued when designers use hard materials like metal and incorporate them into their shoe design.  I find that with a sleek design shoes with metal portray a next age woman that exudes confidence, sexiness, and power.  In my opinion the t-strap gold plated pyramid and the gold plated snake wave Giuseppe sandals strike a wonderful balance of strong and sexy.

I literally have no words for these double cross strap sandals...I love them and will dream of them tonight.  They are retailed at $850 and are available in black and purple at Shopbop.

I'm digging the cutout booties for the fall...I'm particularly fond of the suede version.  Retailed at $1,150 and available in red suede at Nordstrom.

I also really like the butterfly jeweled embellished sandals; cute for a wedding.

I think these gold plated pumps are simple and chic and I would get them in a heart beat.

I had to take a 2nd and 3rd look at these boots but I like all of them.  The ankle boots look sexy and the lace up zipper booties and mid calf boots both are cute and workable.

Shoes that are just "okay"....

I like the two-toned nude and black pieces but not enough to feel like they are must-have's.

I like the silver Robocop looking pumps but the others are just...ehhhhhhh.

Pumps are cute but the embellished sandals I could live without.

These gold studded boots have potential and with the right outfit could really shine.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!  The shoes that made me either confused or puke in my mouth....

Honorable mention....

Staying on trend Mr. Zanotti was sure to include heel-less booties for his fall collection.  These booties and mary jane's are not for the faint of heart and are more GaGa-esque than the heel-less shoes in Giuseppe's S/S 2012 collection.
