Heel less Shoe Trend

I am sure many of you, like myself, have seen the heel less shoe everywhere!  I have a pair of Jeffery Campbell Night Nail shoes myself (pic below) and I must admit I was surprised to feel how comfortable they are and easy to walk in.

I first noticed heel less shoes a few years back on Lady Gaga and to be honest I didn't think they would ever catch on given their (what I thought was) impractical design.  A design created by Japanese shoe mastermind Noritaka Tatehana.  Who took the heel less design into outer space and back!   It took a few years for the heel less shoe trend to set in mostly in part I believe to the craziness of the design and most women being afraid to wear them.

Now designers like Giuseppe Zanotti and Jeffrey Campbell have propelled the trend to the masses with more funky designs and lower prices than Tatehana.  Giuseppe's and Jeffrey Campbells take on the heel less design is still futuristic yet more wearable that the Noritaka Tatehana creations worn by Lady Gaga.  But Tatehana isn't hanging up the towel by any means look out for his new collection being released in May, 2012 to contain more edgy and galactic heel less designs...teasers below.  You can also find his work on display in museums located in Tokyo, Paris, and London at the moment.

Giuseppe Zanotti Suede Corset Bootie

I'm truly falling in love with this Giuseppe...I know what took me so long.  Giuseppe is hands down one of my favorite designers with one unique piece after the other bringing both great craftsmanship to sick shoe designs.  If he's not in your closet yet get him in there...and why not start with this Suede Corset Bootie!

Charlotte Olympia Isla Palm Leaf Sandals

First think I thought of when I saw these sandals was sipping a Mojito on an island most likely because of the palm leaf detail or perhaps because it's been a long day and I simply want a Mojito.  Regardless, I just love love love these signature island brains platform sandals by Charlotte Olympia.  So much so that I have resolved to finally buy a pair of her shoes for the Spring/Summer.  Now I just have to decide on which pair(s)...this will be fun and I'll post pics on instagram to get your suggestions.  You can find me instagrm at @shoebytch so follow and help me pick!

So what do you guys think of these island platforms by Charlotte...a contender?

Giuseppe Zanotti Neon Platforms (E20274)

Have you ever seen a pair of shoes that are just completely oxymoronic?  Like controlled craziness?  That's how I feel about these Giuseppe Zanotti platforms they are far enough out there to make a statement but familiar enough that you feel comfortable walking in them.  Sometimes I feel as if shoe designers are mad scientists working in a lab...messing with things to come up with new concoctions and this time it worked Mr. Znotti.  What do you guys think of these platforms for the Spring?

Shoe features leather upper, lace closure, ankle wrap ties, leather lining, cuban heel, 6" heel, and 1.75" platform.  Retailed at $1,150 and available for purchase at Zappos Couture.

3rd Annual Ricky Trendy Fashion Show (3/10/2012)

Last Saturday I (along with a few hundred other people) witnessed fashion like it's never been done before in CT at the Ricky Trendy Fashion Show held at Bill Millers Castle (Branford, CT). There were chandeliers, tons of press, beautiful guests, and celebs like ANTM contestant Bianca Golden, Buckey from FOL and Charm School, author Tionna Smalls from WCW, and Baseball Wives Brooke Villone. Of course I was most excited to see the first runway showing for Spiked Intuition by Ashlei Banks.

Ashlei Banks, for those of you that don't know, is an up and coming shoe designer that currently provides custom shoe embellishing. She also has a fashion blog that you must check out (ashleibanks.com).

So I pretty much had a one track mind at the show... What is everyone wearing on their feet! Below are some random crowd shoe pics (more event pics in slide show).

Kim Kardashian Shoe Closet

I die!!!  So Kim Kardashian decided to share instagram pics of her shoe closet over the weekend.  Though I've always known she has a mean shoe game; seeing them all together like a happy little shoe family has made me like Kim K a little more.  I spy Loubi's for days...don't get me wrong I love Loubi just like any other shoe lover.  But, I wish celebs like Kim K would give new up and coming shoe designers a chance as well.  What do you guys think of her collection?

Kanye West Fall 2012 Paris Fashion Week

All I have to say is "Go Mr. West"!  Kanye West showcased his Donda designs during F/W 2012 Ready To Wear collection earlier today during Paris Fashion Week.  The event was filled with celebs like, Sean Combs, Kim Kardashian, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Rosario Dawson, Common, and more.  I personally fell in love with the knee high boots that feature leather straps from the toe all the way up to the shaft.  Don't forget to check out the zipper detail on the sole of the shoe...pure originality.  I loved Kanye's collection during PFW especially the below boots (which I would rock in a heart beat).  However, considering a pair of his shoes from his last collection cost $6k I doubt I'll be wearing Ye's shoes anytime soon.  What do you guys think of these boots?  Ye or Nay?
