Giuseppe Zanotti Neon Platforms (E20274)

Have you ever seen a pair of shoes that are just completely oxymoronic?  Like controlled craziness?  That's how I feel about these Giuseppe Zanotti platforms they are far enough out there to make a statement but familiar enough that you feel comfortable walking in them.  Sometimes I feel as if shoe designers are mad scientists working in a lab...messing with things to come up with new concoctions and this time it worked Mr. Znotti.  What do you guys think of these platforms for the Spring?

Shoe features leather upper, lace closure, ankle wrap ties, leather lining, cuban heel, 6" heel, and 1.75" platform.  Retailed at $1,150 and available for purchase at Zappos Couture.

3rd Annual Ricky Trendy Fashion Show (3/10/2012)

Last Saturday I (along with a few hundred other people) witnessed fashion like it's never been done before in CT at the Ricky Trendy Fashion Show held at Bill Millers Castle (Branford, CT). There were chandeliers, tons of press, beautiful guests, and celebs like ANTM contestant Bianca Golden, Buckey from FOL and Charm School, author Tionna Smalls from WCW, and Baseball Wives Brooke Villone. Of course I was most excited to see the first runway showing for Spiked Intuition by Ashlei Banks.

Ashlei Banks, for those of you that don't know, is an up and coming shoe designer that currently provides custom shoe embellishing. She also has a fashion blog that you must check out (ashleibanks.com).

So I pretty much had a one track mind at the show... What is everyone wearing on their feet! Below are some random crowd shoe pics (more event pics in slide show).

Kim Kardashian Shoe Closet

I die!!!  So Kim Kardashian decided to share instagram pics of her shoe closet over the weekend.  Though I've always known she has a mean shoe game; seeing them all together like a happy little shoe family has made me like Kim K a little more.  I spy Loubi's for days...don't get me wrong I love Loubi just like any other shoe lover.  But, I wish celebs like Kim K would give new up and coming shoe designers a chance as well.  What do you guys think of her collection?

Kanye West Fall 2012 Paris Fashion Week

All I have to say is "Go Mr. West"!  Kanye West showcased his Donda designs during F/W 2012 Ready To Wear collection earlier today during Paris Fashion Week.  The event was filled with celebs like, Sean Combs, Kim Kardashian, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Rosario Dawson, Common, and more.  I personally fell in love with the knee high boots that feature leather straps from the toe all the way up to the shaft.  Don't forget to check out the zipper detail on the sole of the shoe...pure originality.  I loved Kanye's collection during PFW especially the below boots (which I would rock in a heart beat).  However, considering a pair of his shoes from his last collection cost $6k I doubt I'll be wearing Ye's shoes anytime soon.  What do you guys think of these boots?  Ye or Nay?

Vivienne Westwood Anglomania & Melissa Skyscraper

I definitely wouldn't put these Vivienne Westwood pumps in the bad ass category but I am drawn to them.  There is something so sexy and sophisticated about them almost oxymoronic.  Perhaps it's the color (by the way they also come in royal blue and black) or the high arch in the heel but there is something mischievous about them.  If fact these shoes are giving me Princess Di for some reason (don't ask me why), but I could definitely see her rocking these.

The one thing I don't get is the name though...'Skyscraper'...really?  Their 4.25" heels far from skyscrapers in my book, but to Beatrice at the yacht club benefit these are probably hooker heels so maybe it makes sense.  If you are looking for a conservative shoe with a subtle hint of "I'm wearing no panties"; I'd say go for these .

Shoe features synthetic upper and sole, wide round toe, 4.25" heel, and .75" hidden platform.  Retailed at $179 (on sale in black for $142) and available for purchase at Couture Zappos.

Naked Shoe by Andreia Chaves

I'm really digging the space age futuristic feel of brazilian designer Andreia Chaves 'Naked Shoe'.  Each pair is custom made, hence the price tag of over 2k, and uses 3D technology to construct each shoe to present the foot like you've never seen before.  Just looking at these shoes makes me wish I paid more attention in math class.  One thing I don't like about the shoe is the color of the pump!  I'd like to see the shoe with a bolder color underneath the black caging.

Solestruck advises that you buy a size up and that shipping will take 4-6 weeks....worth it...quite possibly. What do you guys think?  Do you have a pair already, if so share a picture with us.

YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE!

I'm not sure if I just have an affinity to things bright canary yellow [*Flashback* like when I got the nickname Sunshine freshman year of high school because of that God awful day I wore a pair of bright yellow baggy jeans (it was back when TLC first came out and it was "cool" for girls to wear baggy boyish clothes) ahhhhh to be young again! *End of Flashback*], but I just love these Michael Antonio 70's inspired cutout platform sandals.  I'm not sure if I could pull them off per-se but I'd definitely try them on to give them a whirl (side bar that's the only downer to online shopping).  But me likey!  Let me know what you guys think...do they look too "Hey look at me"...too "I killed Big Bird to make these shoes"...??

P.S. They also come in Black, Blue and Taupe.

Gallista - $169 at Heels

Sandals feature cutout upper design, hidden zip closure at heel, tassel on zipper, 5.5" chunky heel, and 2.5" platform.
